Thomas Collins didn't set out to run a wallpaper company. He set out to learn a trade properly — and that made all the difference. Starting as an apprentice under a veteran paperhanger who'd worked Houston's River Oaks estates since the 1980s, Thomas spent his first two years doing nothing but wall prep: stripping, skim-coating, sanding, priming. "You don't get to hang paper until the wall is perfect," his mentor told him. That rule still governs every job we take.
When Thomas founded Collins Wallpaper Masters, he kept the standards and dropped the shortcuts. Every project starts with a plumb line, because Houston houses — from 1920s bungalows in the Heights to brand-new builds in Sugar Land — almost never have truly straight walls. Every pattern is matched at eye level where you'll actually see it. Every seam is rolled, every edge trimmed against a fresh blade, every room left cleaner than we found it.
